Every day, the Kenya Wildlife Service works on the frontlines to sustainably conserve Kenya's wildlife heritage and it's habitats through tracking poachers, rescuing animals, managing human-wildlife conflict, mitigating climate change and protecting over 22% of the country's wild spaces where wildlife thrives. But we cannot do it alone.

Sustained conservation effort for example the growth in rhino and elephant numbers as a result of focused attention shows there is an opportunity to reverse the decline trend of wildlife. KWS is developing recovery and action plans for other species and taxa that are under extreme pressure.
Our urgent priorities are to:
Enhance species recovery programs (Lion, Spotted Hyena, Black Rhino, Elephant Giraffe, Pancake Tortoise, Roan Antelope , Sable Antelope, Bongo)
Enhance wildlife health
Enhance management of problem animals
Control illegal trade in and trafficking of wildlife and wildlife products
Help reverse these declining wildlife trends.
